Ich arbeite mit Performance, Text, Textil, Malerei, Zeichnung, zeichnerischer Malerei, Fotografie, Zeichnung auf Fotografie, Video, Sound, Video und Sound, Musik, Gesang, Songtext, Skulptur, Ton und Holz.

Für meine Ausstellung «They put a flag out on the roof of any house I happen to be in» ist eine mehrteilige Arbeit entstanden, bestehend aus bunten Portraits bunter Charaktere, eingebettet in angedeutete Landschaften.

EN

I work with performance, text, textile, painting, drawing, drawing painting, photography, drawing on photography, video, sound, video and sound, music, song, song text, sculpture, clay and wood.

For my exhibition "They put a flag out on the roof of any house I happen to be in" a multi-part work was created, consisting of colorful portraits of colorful characters embedded in implied landscapes. The title was quoted from the successful Netflix series "The Crown." In an imagined scene, Queen Elizabeth II says that her exact location is evident from the flagging of each building.

Sometimes they are half facing each other, other times they are behind each other, sometimes side by side. Clear facial features disappear in my paintings and are replaced by a presumed mouth or an implied nose. Colors mix, eyes become red, skin tones are painted green. Like the Russian-South African painter Vladimir Tretchikoff, who painted Asian and black women who were models for him, mostly in a green, partly blue skin color.

My paintings are collages of different influences, I'm thinking of works by Miriam Cahn and Francis Bacon, but also of representations and caricatures of superhuman beings, such as a clichéd representation of an alien or the so-called Slender Man, a fictional being of the Internet Urban Legends.
